More than 40 years serving the Littleton community have taught us that the best part of eye care is the people. Caring for people’s eyes means caring for our neighbors. The same families we see at the grocery store, the longtime patients who feel more like friends, and the seniors we’ve helped for decades.
So when there’s a chance to give back to Littleton and the greater Denver area outside the exam room, we’re honored to answer.
As a private, physician-owned practice, we are thankful that we get to decide where we put our time and support outside the doors of our practice, and most of the time we choose right back in our community.
Here are a few of the local events and causes we’re proud to stand behind.
Western Welcome Week is the end-of-summer tradition with a grand parade, a maker and crafter fair, live music, gold panning on the South Platte, and something for just about everyone. It’s one of the longest-running community celebrations in Colorado, and we’re proud to be a grand sponsor. Western Welcome Week is run by an all-volunteer nonprofit and depends on local support to keep going, and every year it raises money for dozens of Littleton service clubs and charities. Our sponsorship helps keep that fundraising engine running for the local groups that depend on it.
Every summer, historic Main Street lights up for Illuminate Littleton, an evening of glowing art installations, roaming musicians, outdoor dining, and a drone show over downtown.
It’s free, it’s family-friendly, and it’s one of the best nights of the year to be in Littleton. We’re glad to help bring it to the community as a Luminous sponsor.
You’ll often find us at the Littleton/Englewood Senior Expo at Arapahoe Community College, and we look forward to it every time.
So many eye conditions that come with age, like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, start quietly, with symptoms that are easy to miss. The Expo gives us a chance to sit down with older adults in our community, answer their questions, and remind them how much a regular eye exam can protect.
Caring for our senior neighbors is close to our heart. Our team is known for taking extra time with older patients, and getting to do that out in the community, not just in the office, means a lot to us.
For more than ten years, we’ve been a presenting sponsor of the Sjögren’s Foundation Walk for Sjögren’s. Our founder, Dr. Lance Forstot, has had the honor of giving the opening welcome.
Sjögren’s is one of the most common autoimmune diseases in the country, and it’s a leading cause of the chronic dry eye we help patients manage every day. As a corneal specialist and the former longtime medical director of the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, Dr. Forstot has spent a career caring for people living with the very condition this walk supports.
We’re grateful for the recognition, and we share the credit with everyone here who earns it every day.
In 2025, both Dr. Lance Forstot and Dr. Robert Fish were named 5280 Magazine Top Doctors, an honor decided by fellow physicians that recognizes the top 7% of doctors nationwide.
Our practice has also been featured in regional media, including a City Lifestyle story about how we care for our patients.
Whether we’re marching alongside a summer parade or cheering on a cause we believe in, showing up for Littleton is something we’ve done since 1982, and something we’ll keep doing.
