The history of Colorado Eye Consultants is defined by steady growth, thoughtful collaboration, and an enduring commitment to high-quality ophthalmic care.
In 1982 Corneal Consultants of Colorado was founded by Lance Forstot, M.D., a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal specialist. From its inception, the practice earned a strong reputation for expertise in the treatment of complex corneal conditions and for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
In 1991, Karen Repine, M.D. founded Repine Vision & Laser, which quickly grew into a highly regarded ophthalmology practice serving the Denver metropolitan area. In 2005, Dr. Forstot and Dr. Repine began associating their practices, sharing office space and staff, and further aligning their clinical efforts when Dr. Repine relocated her practice to the Littleton location.
This collaboration culminated in a full merger in 2013, when Repine Vision & Laser was incorporated into Corneal Consultants of Colorado. The merger marked a significant milestone, expanding the practice’s scope of services and strengthening its ability to deliver comprehensive eye care under one unified organization.
In 2014, Robert Fish, M.D. joined the practice, bringing additional skills in corneal, external disease, and refractive surgery care. He became a partner in 2015, and soon thereafter the group adopted the name Colorado Eye Consultants—a reflection of the growing breadth of its physician expertise and services offered.
Since 2015, Colorado Eye Consultants has operated as a collaborative physician partnership, providing both routine and advanced ophthalmic care to patients throughout Colorado and the surrounding region. The practice continues to attract patients from beyond the local community. This engagement reinforces its reputation for clinical excellence.
The ownership team expanded again with the addition of Celine Satija, M.D. in 2025 and Shane Nau, M.D. in 2026, further strengthening the practice’s leadership and long-term vision.
Colorado Eye Consultants currently operates in a modern medical office facility in south Denver, completed in 2021. The practice was thoughtfully designed to support efficient, patient-centered care. An adjacent state-of-the-art surgery center, completed in 2023, further enhances the practice’s ability to deliver advanced surgical services in a seamless setting.
Today, Colorado Eye Consultants remains one of the few independently owned, physician-led ophthalmology practices in the region. This independence allows the group to remain focused on personalized, patient-first care while continuing to evolve to meet the needs of the communities it serves.
